For the past fifteen years the Iranian American Jewish Federation of New York (IAJF) has been able to make a difference in the lives of many people in Israel, as well as the members of its community. The Iranian Jewish community in the Greater New York area has always come together in joining hands to further the common goal of serving the community by collectively addressing issues dealing with Jews around the world.
A primary mission of the IAJF is to establish unity among the large contingent of Iranian Jews in the greater New York metropolitan area and to act as a conduit between the community and other groups and organizations with respect to matters that affect their lives and matters pertaining to the State of Israel.
Over the years, the course of events in the Middle East has taken primary precedence on the IAJF agenda. Since 2002, IAJF has hosted fifteen Annual Dinners, and has raised close to $42 million. The proceeds have been distributed to over 180 organizations, primarily in Israel and support IDF soldiers and their families, victims of terror, hospitals, educational institutions, soup kitchens, and many other worthy causes. IAJF also allocates funds for domestic and worldwide support.
